Mamma Mia.. Here I go again

Mamma Mia.. Here I go again.. my my how can I resist you!! Hahaha I just finished watching Mamma Mia The Movie with my nieces & nephews for God knows how many time!!. How they enjoy that movie. They are only 8 & 6 & 2 and they had watched it for hundreds of time. For them the movie must be entertaining as there were music, dancing & funny moments that they enjoyed. I found the movie is entertaining too. I grow up listening to ABBA, who doesn’t?? It’s fun to watch the casts sing. Some of them sang for the first time in their life! Eventhough watching Pierce Brosnan singing “SOS” is excruciating, the rest of the casts has done their part well. But he impressed me with “When All is Said and Done”. My favorite is Tanya’s “Does Your Mother Knows” which is hilarious!

What I like best about this movie is the location, I read somewhere that it was filmed in Greece, on a small Greek island of Skopelos. The water is so clear that makes me want to jump right into it. I wish I have a chance to visit Greece. I can picture myself walking along the white sandy beach holding hands with my one & only true love (you know who you are, darling!) watching the sunset, eating the seafood.. hmm.. J This movie is about love & relationship it’s about following your heart, finding yourself & be sure of what you want. Don’t let other people tells you what to do, who to marry or when to stop! It’s your life, you must be in control J

Chicken Soup.. Anyone?

Today I will not blog about fashion but I will blog about something which is much more important and essential for everybody than shoes or bags.. I’m gonna blog about F.O.O.D. My personal favorite pastime. I love to cook as much as I enjoy eating out. Asian dishes like simple stir fried Chinese style, Indian Curry, Thai Tomyam even the Malay “asam rebus” or Western food - Pastas, Pizzas, pancakes & waffles, you name them & I had cooked them!

Being able to cook to your family is priceless! Knowing that your family is eating good, fresh, healthy food is very rewarding. Anyway having freshly cooked meals at home is cheaper than eating outside. For me cooking is therapeutic & watching my family & friends polishing their plates really make my day! I am a simple woman. As I am a working mother, I always introduced myself as “Weekend Cook”. On weekends I will cook the full meals for my family sometimes I had planned ahead what to cook. Sometimes I just wake up in the morning and start rummaging my fridge trying to figure out what to do with ½ pounds of beef, 4 chicken wings, potatoes, carrot & celery. Chicken soup sounds good, how about stir fried beef with celery?? Excellent dishes accompanying my white rice, this will be my “Cooking without a recipe” day as Chef Michael Smith from Chef@Home Show always says. Hopefully nobody complaints!!

How about you? Do you cook your everyday meals or you are a weekend cook like me? What is your emergency recipe?

Would You Buy Fakes??

I was browsing in the web looking for my dream bag - PRADA Medium Nappa Stripe in grey, which was sold out worldwide. Trying my luck to see whether it was on sale by someone who has had enough of it. I found quite a number on sale but to my horror all are not the real one!! What I cannot stand is the seller state the word "AUTHENTIC" on their advertisement.. C'mon who will believe that this so called "authentic" are on sale at 1/8 of the original price! I am not against replica bags. But I really appreciate if those seller would indicate that "these items are replicas with AAA or Super A grades.. bla.. bla.." instead of claiming it was the real deal. And for those people who purchased these and think you have purchased a real one, I pity you.. Fakes are not only ugly, distasteful & unsightly.. most importantly they are ILLEGAL to buy or sell!!

*guess which is the real PRADA?*

Maybe people cannot understand why certain handbags cost a bomb & some are not. The difference between these 2 are, these designers or couture bags are usually handmade & the material used are from the highest grade, the craftmen usually spend quite a number of hours to complete a piece. They have put their heart & soul into their masterpieces and are very proud of them and suddenly these ugly mass produced bags just stormed over and overshadowed these masterpieces. It is very very sad...

Lately I noticed a lot of our local stores sell lookalike designer bags at a very reasonable price which are on par with the quality of the bags. I would buy a lookalike bag rather than the fake one which displayed the designer's name or logo (which are definately not authentic!) at least I know what I buy & confident with the quality of my purchase. No worries!
So the BIG question now is - WOULD YOU BUY FAKES??

It's Not A Bag.. It's A Birkin..

Ever wonder why that Birkin Bag is so damn expensive and the waiting time for one bag is 5 YEARs? Well, according to Ms Pascale Mussard (Co-Artistic Director of Hermes), an Hermes bag is not expensive as it is couture and it costs time to construct every bag and people must acknowledge that time is important. Each bag are made by hand by a single person to ensure quality & personalise of the craftmen. It takes 18 hrs to make an average size Birkin or Kelly and larger size can goes up to 30 hrs per bag. Each craftmen produces an average 5 bags a week and they supply to all 250 Hermes stores around the globe. No wonder the waiting period is 5 years!! So, calling all the readers who owned a Birkin or a Kelly, care to share a picture or two with us?

PRADA vs LOUIS VUITTON

Lately I have been debating with my friends about why do we buy a certain bag/s.. Do you buy that bag because of the name or brand, the shape of the bag, the color, the material or the practicality? Of course most of my friends say the name/brand is #1 which I totally disagree. For me the first thing that I look for a bag is the material.. I always like leather as they are durable and can last longer and also waterproof! Brands... of course everyone wants to own a branded bag. At least 1 in their lifetime:) My dream bag is PRADA Medium Nappa Stripe in Metallic Grey. I know it was last year's collection but it still makes my heart jumping with joy everytime I see it! It has all the criteria that I want - it's leather, roomy with double handle and optional shoulder strap add convenience AND it's shimmering metallic!! But my friends keep on saying that I must buy a Louis Vuitton instead! hmmm..

Sooo.. I went to the LV website to see what are the "hoohas" about. Monogram canvas is a BIG no no, the Damier is not bad but you can see them everywhere so I move along to EPI collection and saw this Bagatelle GM, not bad.. maybe this can be my first LV. What do you think?

Women love shoes

Women love shoes. If you were to approach a woman and ask her to recall her favorite or most memorable pair of women's shoes, she would likely have a quick response. It could have been her first pair of expensive designer shoes that stir feelings of glee. How many pairs of shoes you own. How many pairs of shoes you bought per month? As long it fancy you? When we talk about shoes the best person we relate to is non other than Imelda Marcos. Imelda Marcos collections total 2700 pair of shoes! Imagine how big a space is needed to display all those shoes.
Shoes are now in the forefront of fashion. The emergence of the designer shoe took centre stage with the showing of the HBO show “Sex in the City”. At the starting scenes of every show, Carrie is seen window shopping and pauses in front of a boutique viewing a pair of shoes with immense love and admiration. No one ever could imagine what object mesmerize her. The women list of craves goes on.

Why women love handbag?

Verb
Present participle
craving
to crave (third-person singular simple present craves, present participle craving, simple past and past participle craved)
To want strongly as to satisfy an appetite. To
long for, to yearn.
I know I should diet more, but every afternoon I crave a soda so I have one.

A man wonders what women want. Men don't understand or they don't bother to understand why women love handbags so much. Women love handbags. Women admires handbag like men admires women. Men ogles at women on the street but women ogles handbag, shoes, clothes, sunglass, watches, make-up and even the same genitalia on their own body. Before we discuss or comment about those subjects let us post this week subject. Why women love handbags? Why the need to have a roomful of it?
